Frequently Asked Questions
Do you stock body jewelry?
Yes, we do. We carry various gauges and diameters / lengths of high-quality surgical stainless steel body jewelry ranging from plain and tiny to big and fancy. Feel free to drop in and have a look at what we have in stock! Please note that we currently do not stock gold or titanium, nor heavy-gauge (i.e. thicker than 12 gauge) items. We can order almost anything, however, so don't be shy about asking.
Do you stock aftercare products?
Not currently. We haven't yet found a supplier that would allow us to sell the products we prefer our customers to use at reasonable prices (although we're still looking). The products we reccommend are all readily available at most drugstores.
How much will a [insert brief description here] tattoo cost? How about a tattoo of [insert photograph]?
This is an extremely difficult question to answer, and not one that is easily done by telephone or via e-mail. The question you are asking us is effectively "how much time is it going to take you to apply my tattoo?", since that's how we determine what we're going to charge you - and we really need to have an interactive conversation with you in order to determine the answer. The process of discussing your design, placement, size, level of detail, colours (or lack thereof), etc. is called "consultation" - often referred to as "having a consult" - and is a critical part of ensuring that everyone is happy at the end of the process.
OK, so how does this "consult" thing work?
Good question! It's simple. First, you collect your thoughts about the design you want - budget, sketches, photographs, paintings, notes, etc. - and come in to the shop or call us to book a consult. When you arrive for your appointment, bring the materials you've collected. The artist will ask you questions, you will ask the artist questions - in short, you will have a conversation with the artist about your vision, and they will work with you to come up with something that you will love. Ensuring that something can be tattooed and will continue to look good for a very long time are two key considerations that the artist will make. They may suggest subtle changes, placement in a different area, etc. in order to get you the best result. After this conversation, the artist will either give you a quote for the piece or decide that it needs to be worked on in an hourly fashion. If the price works, you can leave a deposit and book an appointment to get the work done. Just like that!
